The countdown has begun to Digital Shoreditch – a festival which will turn East London into a digital playground during a five-day jamboree in May 2011.
There will be late-night parties, eye-catching displays such lighting up buildings, real-world interactive installations, and augmented reality games. Businesses will get the chance to exhibit their work, a 3D film festival will highlight new talent, and a networking event will allow digital entrepreneurs to swap notes.
The aim is to celebrate the creative diversity and talent thriving within London’s Silicon Valley-like society, and put Shoreditch on the map as the UK’s digital hub. Many of the events will be free, and anyone is invited to add their event to the calendar at no cost. All participants are promoted as an official Digital Shoreditch supporter, and can benefit from national media exposure and the forward-thinking ethos of the festival.
