Claire O’Halloran (Emerging Business Team, Microsoft) talks about how Microsoft is trying to make sense of the investment and finance sector to help the web 2.0 start up community. They are brokering mentoring in particular, and providing holistic support in general.
Microsoft recognises that the Creative Industries are up there with Financial Services as a driver of economic success. By working with providers of capital, people and markets, Microsoft is leveraging their network to help bring business to the SME’s they connect to through things like BizSpark, Seedcamp, HSBC, the European Business Angels Network and the European Venture Capital Association.
The question Claire leaves us with is how does the Creative Industries connect to technology and make use of them to create differentiators in their markets?
What would you like Microsoft to contribute to the Creative Industries? Leave a comment at the end of this post.
