The State of Touring across the Performing Arts Ecology is a new research report produced by The Audience Agency on behalf of Arts Council England. MyCake focused on the acquisition and analysis of the financial data on touring organisations.The study explores the current landscape of touring across theatre, dance, music, and combined arts in indoor venues with a capacity of 150 seats or more. It is informed by extensive consultation with sector bodies, touring organisations, venues, and individual practitioners.
Arts Council England’s response to the research sets out the steps it will take, as both a funder and development agency, to strengthen investment in and support for the touring ecology.
